About me

My integrative approach to counseling draws from various therapeutic techniques, constantly evolving through ongoing learning, professional development, and personal therapy. My journey into psychotherapy began with long-term psychodynamic therapy and theoretical studies in psychoanalysis in London, where I lived before moving to Portland and graduating with a Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.

Currently, I am expanding my expertise through several training programs. These include Gestalt therapy training with GATLA (Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles), a four-year Somatic Psychology Training in Contemporary Orgone (Reichian) Therapy, and the Developmental Model of Relationship Therapy for LGBTQIA2S+ Clinicians at the Queer Relationship Institute. These diverse trainings enhance my integrative approach, blending various therapeutic modalities to best serve my clients.

Gestalt therapy emphasizes the importance of self-awareness as a step towards desired change. As a therapist, my role is to help clients identify internalized beliefs and learned behaviors that prevent them from meeting their needs, resulting in anxiety, depression, and feelings of being stuck. Before changing my career to psychotherapy, I worked in the corporate world. This experience helps me understand clients in corporate environments and business owners who experience stress, pressure, and feelings of being overwhelmed. My passion extends to empowering women who have faced misogyny, sexism, or gender-based oppression in their careers.

My counseling style is hands-on, direct, and shaped by my multicultural background. Having developed in different cultures outside the USA, I bring a unique perspective to therapy. I am straightforward and can be challenging when needed, while providing an empathetic, warm space for people to grow, grieve, express frustration, and work through various challenges. As a queer woman, I am well-positioned to support clients from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community, cross-cultural couples, and children of immigrants. I'm particularly attuned to the experiences of women navigating complex workplace dynamics and societal expectations.

I am endlessly curious about people and constantly learning about myself and the world around me. My work energizes me, fueling my passion for psychotherapy. In my free time, I enjoy building meaningful friendships, learning about new ideas, volunteering with political refugees, and supporting my loved ones.

My Favorite Places to Cry…

☹ I cry at night in the dark room alone while rocking out to Russian hits from 20 years ago.

✌︎ I also shed tears on airplanes, soaring 31,000 feet above the Earth, while indulging in Hollywood blockbusters.

☹ And let's not forget the waterworks during EMDR therapy sessions when I process the heavy weight of patriarchy!
