About me

My name is Cam and I am eager to work with people who are ready to dig into their experiences, raise awareness of their processes, and heal past and current wounds. I hold several privileged and marginalized identities that inform the way I support people. Existing in an oppressive system, that at times told me I did not belong, has given me the empathy to support people who have felt othered, unseen, underserved, and underrepresented. My hope is to offer a therapeutic relationship that builds your self supports and bridges environmental supports to communities you are a part of or building. With internal and external supports, wounds can be mended that interrupt you from meeting your needs and seeing the growth you desire.

I was drawn to the field of counseling through my own therapy, where I experienced the impact of understanding my self and raising awareness of my processes, while healing in relation to another. I was also drawn to this work through a felt sense of congruence between my temperament, attributes, skills, abilities, and experiences, and the therapeutic work of holding a container for others to heal. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling with a focus on relationships and families from Portland State University. I’m a member of the Gestalt Training Center in Seattle where I have received training for individual and couples therapy through a contemporary Gestalt perspective.

My therapeutic work includes working with relationships of all forms (i.e. platonic, romantic, familial, etc.), and I aim to improve each person’s ability to communicate while maintaining their separateness in connection with the other. I also enjoy working with queer people, trans and gender non-conforming folks, and people who are interested in depth work. As a transfemme (wíŋkte) and mixed (iyeska), white and indigenous person, I am dedicated to promoting social justice by recognizing and honoring the nuances of gender, race, sexuality, ethnicity, and all abilities.

Together, you and I can experiment with the changes you seek to meet your needs. Let’s have a conversation together to see if we are a good fit.

How I Work

authenticity, care, and directness

As a therapist, I seek to braid together authenticity, care, and directness. I draw from theories of Gestalt therapy, Somatic practices, and Process Work. I value these experiential models of therapy that increase awareness of your conscious and unconscious processes through experiments, movement, dreamwork, and visualizations. My goal is to provide stability and challenge for clients to understand new perspectives of their creative adaptations and explore ways they make meaning of their world

I have a steady, precise, firm yet gentle presence in therapy that provides as much support as necessary, and as little as needed , to support you to find your own way. I welcome the differences that exist between each of us, and utilize them to therapeutically support you  to sharpen your awareness and restore your agency and choice.

You and I can explore your experiences, understand the ways you make meaning, and experiment with changes you seek to meet your needs and mend past harms. Let’s have a conversation together to see if we are a good fit.
