Crybaby’s Mission
Crybaby Counseling is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive, and affirming space for LGBTQ+ community including those who also hold the intersection of: Immigrant, Refugees, BIPOC, and those who Identify as Gender expansive. We recognize the unique health and safety challenges faced by these groups and are committed to promoting social healing and systemic change. We also embrace dominant identities, offering identity development for those seeking to understand their “whiteness” and “privilege,” and support for friends, family, and parents of marginalized clients to bridge understanding in their relationships.
Our culturally competent care is deeply rooted in respecting and integrating our clients' lived experiences into the therapeutic process. Our team of queer, trans, BIPOC, and immigrant therapists, brings both personal and professional experience to our work, understanding firsthand the impact of institutional, systemic, social, and familial denial based on identity, appearance, and who we love.
While we acknowledge that marginalized communities are not monolithic and that our experiences may differ from those of our clients, we recognize the profound value of aligning identities and experiences, especially in times of crisis. The trust and understanding this alignment fosters often leads to deeply healing experiences for those seeking mental health support.
To ensure accessibility, we actively work to remove barriers to affirming healthcare, including partnering with OHP to make our services available to those in need. We also offer a low/no-fee program, providing 1-6 rotating therapy spots per clinician based on identity, socioeconomic status, and availability. This program underscores our commitment to equitable care, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent individuals from accessing the support they need.
At Crybaby Counseling, we are committed to fostering deep connections and empathy at the core of our therapeutic process, delivering care that is informed, inclusive, and accessible to all.
